Given the success of the Pro Kabaddi League, the number of teams in the 5th season was given from 8 to 12 and 138 matches were played in the tournament lasting 13 weeks.
This year, the tournament will run for 13 weeks, but the sixth season is yet to come. 12 teams will be divided into 2 groups and 6-6 teams will be retained in both groups. In the play-off, once again, 3 eliminators will compete and 2 qualifiers will be played. After this, the final match will take place on January 5, 2019.
In last season, Patna Pirates defeated Gujarat Fortunyjintes 55-38 and won the title of Pro Kabaddi for the third consecutive time. Paradip Narwal scored 19 red points in the final and his performance was spectacular throughout the season
